About Hvidbjerg Collection
Hvidbjerg Strand, Vejers Strand Camping, Feriekompagniet, Skagen Sydstrand Camping and SJ Feriehusudlejning, as well as the upcoming Klithjem Badehotel and Badehotellet Vejers Strand, are all part of the Hvidbjerg Collection, a collection of coastal holiday and accommodation options ranging from classic nature camping to cabins, luxury villas, hotel comfort and holiday homes.
And although each place has its own unique character, they are all bound together as a family with shared values. A holiday cannot be redone, so the goal is always to create an environment where quality, presence and complete guest experiences are the focus.

The story of the Hvidbjerg Collection
In 1976, Mona and Thorkild Slaikjær founded what we now know as Hvidbjerg Strand Holiday Park. Mona and Thorkild fell in love with the location and the beautiful West Jutland countryside by the North Sea.
Today, siblings Steen and Lene Slaikjær own and operate Hvidbjerg Strand – the heart of the Hvidbjerg Collection. They have many ideas and are constantly thinking outside the box to create something new and exciting.
Since 1976, things have developed and there have been many large projects. One of the first major projects was the tropical water park. The water park was built with the idea of creating a tropical environment where the water is 28 degrees and the air is 30 degrees, and it opened in 1989.
Wellness
Later, a large 1,200 m2 wellness centre was added. The idea behind the wellness centre is to create peace and well-being for guests. At the same time, a geothermal heating and solar cell system was installed, which helps to significantly reduce CO2 emissions. Hvidbjerg Strand Feriepark strives to take responsibility and combine holidays with responsibility.
Indoor Playground
The 800 m2 Play City was established in Westernbyen, followed shortly afterwards by the large trampoline park. The indoor playground has room for both small and large children. There are trampolines, bouncy castles, slides, football pitches, climbing walls and much more. In the trampoline park, you will find trampolines for all tastes, wall trampolines, air tracks and much more.
6-star campsite
The accommodation options at Hvidbjerg Strand Feriepark have also changed over time. Today, there are six types of cabins. In 2017, a beach hotel with 24 apartments was built, as well as 23 beach villas with their own spa on the terrace.
All the new initiatives that have been introduced over the years have resulted in Hvidbjerg Strand Feriepark now being a 6-star campsite – and Europe's only 6-star campsite. The German organisation ADAC has awarded Hvidbjerg Strand Feriepark the titles Superplatz and BestCamping.
In 2016, Hvidbjerg Strand became the first campsite in Denmark to receive the Camping Council's highest distinction, Superior.
Vejers Strand Camping
In 2020, Vejers Strand Camping became part of the family, and in 2021, the first Van Life & Barbeque weekend was held in Vejers.
Skagen Sydstrand Camping
In 2021, the family expanded again, this time with Skagen Sydstrand Camping (formerly Bunken Camping in Skagen) and Vejers Strandhotel.
2023
In 2023, six new North Sea villas and six Glamping Lodges opened in Hvidbjerg Strand, along with nine Glamping Suites in Skagen. In addition, a new reception and administration building was also completed in Hvidbjerg Strand.
In 2023, Hvidbjerg Strand Feriepark also received six stars from Camping Outdoor Denmark.
2025
A new fitness centre was added to the list of facilities at Hvidbjerg Strand. The fitness centre was built in the former reception building. The fitness centre has a variety of equipment for both strength and cardio training.
2026
Hvidbjerg Strand
- During spring 2026, a larger and newly renovated Fiskehjørnet (Fish Corner) and Ice House will open.
- A further 16 new North Sea villas will be inaugurated.
- In autumn, a major expansion of the water park is expected to open, with several new slides and a jungle area.
- In the autumn, a new outdoor area with a sauna and spa will open on the ground floor of the wellness centre.
Feriekompagniet og SJ Feriehusudlejning
Hvidbjerg Collection also includes the holiday home rental agencies Feriekompagniet and SJ Feriehusudlejning, which rent out beautiful holiday homes in Blåvand and the surrounding area, as well as in the cities of Vrist and Harboøre. The holiday home agencies rent out more than 1,400 holiday homes.
These holiday homes range from large, modern luxury homes to smaller, unique gems with lots of charm and personality. Each holiday home has its own character. Some have beautiful sea views, while others are furnished with cosy nooks or special architectural details that make the holiday something special for guests.
